Nap Time and Bedtime

Nap time and bedtime at our house has become a nightmare. The kids think that it is actually playtime. When I open the door to see what the heck is going on-this is what I find. They are all in the closet.
When I ask them what they have been doing, some of the comments I get are:

"We were at the mall on the escalator."

"We were at Jamba Juice"

"We are going to Starbucks"

Other times I have found them all on the floor and they tell me that they were "swimming." The other day they all had their blankies wrapped around their heads. They told me that it was raining and they needed their rain coats.

I am so glad that they have imaginations and it is so fun that they can play together, but I just wish they would sleep a little more. The lack of sleep is draining on both them and me. Many days no one naps and they don't fall asleep until 10. Oh, the challenges of triplets:)

1 Down, 2 To Go

I think I can officially say that I have 1 of the triplets potty trained. This is very exciting for me. After weeks and weeks of showing every sign that she was ready, Kate finally decided that she wanted to wear panties on Saturday. I have been trying for weeks, but she refused to wear underwear. We have a trip planned to Disneyland in 2 weeks, so I thought I would wait till after that to really go for it, but she approached me Saturday morning with a desire to do it herself. I couldn't let this window pass.

She has done so awesome and it has been a breeze. In 4 full days she has only had 2 tiny pee accidents. She stays dry all night and during naps. I don't even ask her if she needs to go very often-she tells me. It is so cute to see how proud she is of herself. Every time she goes potty we talk about every one that is so proud of her and she gets the biggest grin on her face.  Hopefully Luke and Lily will potty train just as easy, but I won't get my hopes up:)

Sophie is 7 Months Old

Actually, she was 7 months old yesterday, but I just didn't get a chance to blog. She is turning into such a cutie. She has mastered sitting up and is much happier sitting to play with her toys. She sure can get around a room though. She gets what she wants and will roll and scoot her way to get it. She still remains toothless-I treasure those "gummy" smiles:) I am sort of glad she doesn't have teeth yet because that would mean she is growing up.
She is a very vocal girl and loves to growl, coo, and yell. She always makes sure that I can hear her. She actually screams at me sometimes. I guess she has found her way to be heard in our busy house.

She still likes to wake up at least once every night. She likes to eat somewhere between 3-4:30am. Definitely not my favorite time to wake up, but then I look at her cute little face and it makes up for it.

The triplets still love her and act as if she has always been a part of our family. The other day I was loading all of the kids in the car and Lily said, "Mom, you forgot Sophie May." Lily forgets that I don't have 4 arms:)

Happy Mothers Day!

I just had to write about my Mothers Day. For several years, Mothers Day was like rubbing salt in my wounds. I longed to be a mother. I never in my wildest dreams thought that within 2 years-POOF-I was going to have 4 children. I feel very blessed and love my little ones.

Yesterday, I went shopping while the kids were napping and Dan stayed home and cleaned the house for me. I am so thankful for all of his love, willingness, and hard work. He is always willing to do so much for me.

This morning, I stayed in bed with Sophie sleeping next to me while Dan fed the kids breakfast. Then, he brought me up a tray of cereal, toast, and hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows. The kids let me know that they helped daddy with the marshmallows:) So sweet. They also drew cute little pictures for me. When I thanked Luke for wishing me a happy Mothers Day, he said, "no, happy mama day." :)

My Girls

I love my girls. Here are some cute pictures of Lily and Kate before bed the other night. Then, Kate wanted to snuggle in Lily's bed with her-so cute! Can you believe Lily's curls? This is what her hair looks like after a bath.
Then, there is little Sophie. She is really starting to move all over the floor. She has even started to scoot on her tummy a little in the last few days. This girl is non- stop energy. I think she sleeps less than the triplets. We have been working on sitting up and today she was doing really well. She sat for a few minutes all by herself. These pictures are from the last 2 days. I just love her "baby blues."
