First Day of Preschool

It is that time of year again. Time for summer to be over and fall to begin. Time for school to start. Of course it is still very hot, but hopefully the fall weather will come in the next month or so.

Today was the first day of preschool for the triplets. They will be going to The Tree house again. This year they will be going MWF. I will still be aiding at the school 9 weeks out of the year, but will not do any teaching. We hired a teacher this year and the kids loved her. When I picked them up they were so excited to tell me about every thing they did. I am glad they love to go and I look forward to having a little one on one time with Sophie during these days.

The Triplets Turn 4!!!

This past Wednesday was the triplets 4th birthday and we spent it in Disneyland since this year you are able to go free on your birthday. It was a quick trip, but we had a blast.

Tuesday, we drive down and checked into the Residence Inn right by Disneyland. When we got there we were upgraded to the family suite. It was so great. The kids got their own room with bunk beds and they loved it. It also had a kid pool that was open 24 hours. We went swimming that night and the kids thought it was so funny that we were swimming when it was dark.

Wednesday morning was the big day. When we got the kids tickets they also got buttons to wear all day that said it was their birthday. They were wished a happy birthday all day long by people all over Disneyland. It was just like one big birthday party.
It was extremely hot that day-97 degrees to be exact, but we went all day long. We went on rides and lots of them. It was fun that we can go on almost all of the rides together as a family. Sophie seemed to just go with the flow. Lily was still nervous about any ride that went in a "door." She would cover her eyes, but she always wanted more. Kate remains our dare devil when it comes to rides. Too bad she was just under that magic 40 inch height requirement that they have for some of the rides. Luke reached the 40 inch height requirement and was able to go on Star Tours with me.
We visited princesses. Kate and Lily were very excited to meet them, but when it was our turn, Kate got a little shy. I asked Luke if he wanted to meet them. He replied, "I don't like princesses, I like pirates." :)Notice Luke with his new favorite toy, pirate Mickey. He picked this out at Disneyland and it has stayed with him ever since.

We slept. We visited Minnie's house and Mickey's house. This is always a favorite.

We left the park at 11 pm and we were so exhausted. I was so sad when our fun day was over, but thankful that we were able to go. Happy Birthday to Luke, Lily, and Kate!!!

Luke, Lily, and Kate's 4th Birthday Party

This past Wednesday night we celebrated Luke, Lily, and Kate's 4th birthday at Pump It Up. They had been begging for months to have their birthday party there. It is such a fun place with all the entertainment built in. Plus, there is no clean up for me. :)

Their actual birthday is this Wednesday, but we are going to be in Disneyland that day taking full advantage of their promotion this year-going free on your birthday. That's right, all of my kids will get into Disneyland for free on Wednesday.

They had a blast at their birthday party and loved inviting all of their cousins and friends. They were beside themselves with excitement and loved every part.

This year Luke wanted a Spider man party, Lily wanted an Ariel party, and Kate wanted a Dora party. There isn't much room for a party theme at Pump It Up since Pump It Up is a theme all on its own. So, I made themed cupcakes for the kids. Miranda helped me make these fun little treats. Blow out your candles...I think you are looking the wrong way Luke. :)

Everyone loved their cupcakes.

Then it was time to open presents. They were so excited to get to sit in the big blow up chair.
It was a little chaotic with all 3 of them opening presents, but the kids did great and were so appreciative of all of their gifts. Every one was so sweaty and exhausted after playing so hard. They slept well that night.

A Day in Santa Cruz

Two weekends ago, we took a last minute trip up to Half Moon Bay. Dan had to be at a meeting in San Francisco on Friday, so we all went up for a fun weekend. Mom and Dad were still at Bear Lake, but we were lucky enough to still be able to stay at their house. The kids really enjoyed their big bathtub too!
On Saturday, we decided to take the kids to Santa Cruz for the day. We haven't been there forever and we thought it would be fun. First we went to the Seymour Center. It is a little museum/aquarium that is affiliated with UCSC. We got to see fish and touch sea stars. Then, we went on the tour where the kids got to hold whale bones.
We got to watch their 2 dolphins in action with their trainers.
They also have the skeleton of the blue whale that washed up on the shore in Pescadero about 30 years ago. Apparently, this is only 1 of 3 blue whale skeletons in the world that are on display. Very cool!

After leaving the Seymour Center, we headed down to the Beach Boarldwalk. It is always so fun there and it was very crowded. The kids had fun going on a few rides followed by some yummy boardwalk food. :) Then, it was time to drive back to HMB. The kids were totally exhausted and fell asleep in about 2 minutes...priceless.

Lily and Kate

A few Sundays ago Lily and Kate were all ready for church and wanted me to take photos of them "all matchey." I took advantage of their willingness to smile for a photo and got some cute pictures.
