Christmas in February :)

That's right.  I decided that it is finally time to post something about Christmas and today is February 1.  January somehow flew by and I am trying to pull myself out of the rut I have been in lately.  I just can't seem to get anything but the bare minimum done lately. :(

I love Christmas every year and this year didn't disappoint.  I love having tons of family around and just having party after party.  That is what it felt like after the holidays this year.

Christmas eve we spent at Heidi's house.  We had yummy food, the traditional program, made gifts for the birds, chocolate fondue, then off to bed just in time for Santa to arrive. 

In the program the triplets were supposed to sing a song together, but Kate got scared the last minute and Lily decided she would just support Luke in his singing.  It was the funniest thing ever watching Lily grinning and rubbing Luke's back and head while he sang his little heart out. 

They also participated in the annual nativity scene. I think this is Lily's 3rd year in a row of being Mary. She takes this role very seriously. Kate played the angel and Luke was a shepherd.

That night the kids were sure to leave out milk and cookies for Santa and they could not wait for his arrival.

Christmas morning was so fun and the kids loved every minute of it.  Luke and Kate received the Leapsters that they wanted so bad.  Lily loved the Littlest Pet Shop house and figurines she received.  Other things that were under the tree included zhu zhu pets, bendaroos, games, princess laptop for Sophie, pixos, and lots of candy.  What a fun morning and enjoyable day.  We just hung out, spent time together as a family, had breakfast at Heidi's, and relaxed.  That night we had a fabulous Christmas dinner and Eric and Jill's house.

The next day we packed up and drove up to Half Moon Bay.  Dave and Grace's open house was that night at my parents house.  Again we were all together for a big party-so fun!  The food was wonderful and it was fun seeing a lot of  old familiar faces in HMB. 

One eventful thing did happen that night that was scary though.  Dan and I were in the kitchen getting the kids some food when we heard that Luke's hair had got on fire.  Apparently, he was sitting at the table and leaned over a little too close to look at a candle.  His hair had some gel in it which is very flammable and poof, it apperently went up in flames.  Luckily there was an adult at the table who saw this immediately and started smacking his head and put the fire out.  I was so scared and didn't know how bad it was or how bad he was burned.  We immediately got a wet cloth on his head and realized that the flames didn't reach his scalp at all.  It just singed the whole front of his hair.  Some areas were just millimeters from his scalp.  Needless to say, his hair got buzzed.  I am just so grateful that every thing turned out ok.  I was so thankful to the lady sitting there who acted so quickly.  It could have been so serious.
